"'Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.'" (Mark 16:15)
I have so many memories
from the Florida Worship Choir and Orchestra NYC
Worship Project... God did some incredible
things through our ministry in New York. Lives
were changed, both our own lives as well as the
lives we touched during our time there. This is
just one of many stories I hope to have the
privilege of sharing with you. May it encourage
you to step out in faith as you realize that
life is a mission field in itself. One lady stopped me in
Times Square after the flash mob to ask if I was
a Christian. I immediately told her I loved
Jesus Christ with all of my heart. She asked me
to sing for her. While I love to sing, I don't
typically randomly break out in song in public
places! :-) This time, I did. I sang the
chorus from a song I wrote years ago titled,
"There's Sunshine Awaiting You." After I finish
singing, she got very serious and thanked me,
saying she needed to hear that. We talked for
about 30 minutes. We exchanged contact info and
I invited her to the concert at Carnegie Hall
the next night. She called me after the concert
to let me know she came and she was blessed by
our ministry. Sometimes, our ministry is
at church. Other times, our ministry is right
in front of us, if we only take time to look.
It may be at a ball game, a restaurant, on a
subway, at work, or even in the midst of the
hustle and bustle of Times Square. She was one
of 100,000 people within earshot that night. If
I had rushed off to dinner, I wouldn't have met
her. God knew where I needed to be. He knew
that I had another ministry opportunity, if only
I would wait for the exact moment to walk by her
table. I truly believe the Lord guides our
steps. Follow His direction. Don't miss out on
an opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ
with someone. As one Filipino brother in Christ
told me at Christian Bible Church, "It's what
we're born to do."
Previous Updates Posted Before Mission Trip:
Greetings!
My name is Jennifer Campbell. You may know
me personally or this may be the first time we
have become acquainted. I am a Christian.
More than that, I have a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ. I have a heart for ministering to others.
Life has not always been easy, from losing loved
ones to going through personal health struggles.
But through every disappointment and every
battle, God has always proven faithful to me,
time and time again. I pray that He will
use my testimony to lead others to the saving
knowledge of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Through Him, we have peace that passes
understanding, joy unspeakable, and life
everlasting. I pray every day that God
will use me as a willing vessel for His glory.
The Choir will be taking
a missions trip to New York City this spring.
The NY Worship Project is a mission experience
designed to make God known in a big way.
Missional oportunities will include street
witnessing, bottled water stations, as well as
handing out free tickets to the worship concert
at Carnegie Hall where the Gospel will be sung
and proclaimed. We will also be working
with local churches in the area, providing
support, training, and resources based on their
needs. We will be participating in two
flash-mob style events in Times Square, a
concert in Central Park, and sharing a few songs
at Brooklyn Tabernacle as well, in addition to
the concert at Carnegie Hall. I invite you
to visit
www.floridaworship.org for more information
concerning our ministry in New York. In order to join the
Choir on this mission trip, I need your
assistance. The cost of the trip exceeds $2395,
which includes airfare, ground transportation,
accomodations, venue costs, and other related
costs. I realize that money is tight for
many people, as it is for myself, but I ask that
you seek the Lord's will. This would be my
first multi-day missions trip, something I have
always had a desire in my heart to do. UPDATE: Did you
ever have one of those moments when you were
completely and utterly amazed? I had one of
those this afternoon. One day, I had raised
approximately $100. Three days later, I exceeded
my goal of $2395. That's the way God works. He
takes what seems like a hopeless situation and
pours out hope in abundance. If you would still like

together for good to those who love God and are
called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) |
